Annual fete

Jalandhar: The PCM SD College for Women, Jalandhar, organised its 44th annual fete. Rajinder Beri, MLA, Jalandhar Central, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Principal Dr Kiran Arora welcomed the chief guest.

Jalandhar: The PCM SD College for Women, Jalandhar, organised its 44th annual fete. Rajinder Beri, MLA, Jalandhar Central, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Principal Dr Kiran Arora welcomed the chief guest. Students recited ‘shabads’ and presented cultural items. Stalls of various games and eatables were displayed at the fete. Singer Dildaar also performed on the occasion. Lucky winners of the raffle draw were given prizes on the spot. The managing committee of the college extended a vote of thanks to the chief guest by presenting a memento. President of the college managing committee, Purushottam Lal Budhia, joint secretary Vinod Dada, Chandra Mohini Markanda, Kamal Kumar Budhia, Parveen Dada and DK Joshi were also present on the occasion.TNS

Family day celebrated 

Jalandhar: Family Day was celebrated at the Darshan Academy. Parents were invited on the occasion. The function commenced with the lighting of the lamp, followed by ‘Saraswati Vandana’. Various activities were organised for the children to realise the value of family in their lives. Rohit and Arman recited rhymes. Students also performed songs and dances. Through role play, students conveyed the message that family was like branches of a tree that grows in a different directions yet the root remains the same. TNS

Annual sports meet 

Jalandhar: Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara, celebrated its annual sports meet. Principal of the college, Dr Kiran Walia was the chief guest on the occasion. She declared the meet open. She was given a floral welcome by the organisers Dr Madhu Kataria, Kuldip Kumar Sharma, Naval Dogra and Harvinder Chauhan. Gurpreet Kaur was declared the best athlete while Satinder Kaur was declared the second best athlete. Smriti Kanda was given a special award for her participation at the national-level Taekwondo competition in the junior category. The principal gave away the medals to the winners. TNS
