2 held with snatched bike
Phagwara: The Sadar police have arrested Rohit and Rahul, both residents of Soofi village, and seized a bike from them. Parminder Singh Bhandal, Superintedent of Police, said the accused snatched a motorcycle (PB-09AD-8437) from Avinash Kumar, a resident of Uttar Pardesh, at gunpoint near Chiherru on Tuesday and managed to flee. The police said the accused were nabbed from Himachal Pardesh. OC

Phagwara: SP, Kapurthala, Sandeep Sharma, SP (Investigation) Jagjit Singh Saroya, and SP, Phagwara, Parminder Singh Bhandal, yesterday held a meeting with families and relatives of criminals and gangsters of the Phagwara subdivision and offered them cooperation if the criminals want to spend a peaceful life as law-abiding citizens. The relatives and family members of some criminals attended the meeting and assured the police of extending their cooperation to them. Cops sought active assistance and co-operation from renowned artistes like Buta Mohammad, Firoz Khan and Nashatar Gill to help abolish the ‘gun culture’. OC
