Following the allegations levelled by the parents of Class X girl Khushi against two senior boys of Cambridge International School here, the police today lodged an FIR against them.

The parents alleged that the girl, who is under hospitalisation for the past 38 days, had been harassed before her fall on the fourth floor of the school on January 10.

The incident was earlier being termed as a suicide attempt over which the parents are now demanding a probe.

ADCP Sudarvizhi recorded the girl’s statements this evening after which the FIR was lodged. FIR No. 25 has been lodged at Division No. 7 police station under Sections 307 of the IPC, 354 D of the IPC, 67 of the IT Act and 12 POSCO Act.

SHO Onkar Singh Brar said investigation was on and inquiry would be held before taking action against the minor boys. After a press conference by the girl’s parents yesterday, the girl herself corroborated the same statements to the media today. Amidst pain in her limbs, chest and back where she has multiple fractures, the girl too demanded action against the two boys of Class XI, one of whom, she alleged, had shown her some nude pictures just before the incident.

“Those were my pictures but I had never got myself clicked like that. I was in a state of shock after seeing these. I was not in the right frame of mind. I went outside in the verandah where there were two chairs lying near the railing. The same boy told me to stand on the chair and look for my other friend down (with whom she had had a fight the same day). After that, I do not remember what happened. The so-called suicide note ‘I quit’ too was not written by me. I guess that the same boy put it in my uniform before the fall. It was all perhaps his game plan,” she said, pleading that the boys were responsible for her pitiable condition now and should be taken to task by the police. She repeatedly swore by her mom while making these statements.

Meanwhile, KS Pannu, secretary, Child Rights Commission, said, “After going through the statements that Khushi’s parents have made, we will re-open the case. We were earlier told an entirely different story.” The commission had earlier taken a suo motu notice of the case and had, last month, summoned the school authorities, but the matter was later closed.
