JALANDHAR: After bagging the 47th rank in the NEET exam, Jalandhar girl Parul Beri has bagged the 30th all-India rank in the AIIMS entrance test whose result was declared today.

After bagging the 47th rank in the NEET exam, Jalandhar girl Parul Beri has bagged the 30th all-India rank in the AIIMS entrance test whose result was declared today.

Daughter of Jalandhar-based doctors, Dr Parveen Beri and Dr Seema Beri, Parul who was on Cloud Nine, said she was preparing for a party.

Having pursued her tuitions from a Chandigarh-based institute, she was heading to the institute which was throwing a party in her honour. She also said she would have a bash of her own at her home when she returns. Parul, who aims to be a neurologist, said she was keen for AIIMS, Delhi. Parul, who pursued her XIth and XIIth standard studies from Chandigarh, and her Xth standard studies from the St Joseph’s Convent School in Jalandhar.

Sharing her key to make it big, Parul said she never took extra stress and always kept it light.

While she studied at a hostel and had a group of friends who constantly kept in touch and helped each other, she said “We were all very supportive of each other. I studied for five to 10 hours and constantly took breaks.” Her elder sister is also pursuing MBBS from DMC Ludhiana.

Meanwhile, students Aaron Goyal, Vasu Sharma and Ridham Mehndiratta bagged the ranks 203, 435 and 449 in the entrance test. Ridham had also bagged the 93rd all-India rank in the NEET exams. Aaron Goyal, son of businessman Munish Goyal and Parveen Goyal, bagged the 203 all-India rank in the entrance.

Aaron, who studied for seven to eight hours, said he found the subject of biology most challenging, but overcame his initial fears with diligent studies. Aiming to become a cardiologist, Aaron whose brother is in the IXth standard, has also inspired is younger brother to pursue a profession in the medical field.

Having been a student of CJS Public School, he credited his parents and teachers for his success. While he aims to make it to AIIMS he also cleared JIPMER. With his hobbies being listening to music and tennis, Aaron says staying regular and focused in studies helped him score big.

Meanwhile, Vasu Sharma, son of professor Somanth Sharma and Pardeep Sharma (mother), has bagged the 435th rank in the AIIMS entrance.

Vasu, who believes in qualitative studies, said once the basic concepts were clear, it is not difficult to crack the exam. All set to pursue the MBBS course, Vasu said he was also committed to take on the IAS examination in future.

Ridham Mehndiratta, a student of Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar, bagged the 449th all-India rank in the AIIMS entrance.

While Ridham bagged 96.2 per cent in the XII standard examination, he used to study for five to six hours ahead of his exams. While Ridham was taking coaching in chemistry and biology from different coaching centres, he is not the first doctor is his household. His brother Dr Subodh Mehndiratta, Ridham said has been a constant inspiration for him. While his father Rajkumar Mehndiratta is a businessman, his mother Sarita Arora is a housewife and his sister Richa Arora is pursuing engineering.
