Class IV government employees union today protested outside the District Administrative Complex demanding regularisation of their jobs. They also raised slogans against the government.

Employees of the Suwidha Centre and other contractual employees also participated in the rally. The employees alleged that the Congress government was not doing anything for them.

The employees said the government should not forget that it was they who had voted for it. They also demanded that the government should implement the old-age pension scheme for the employees appointed after 2004.

A member of the union said if the government does not pay heed, they will organise a state-level rally in Patiala on August 19.
