Jalandhar:The department of physics, DAV University, Jalandhar organised a week-long short-term course on the topic “Influences of the sun on earth and the solar system” which concluded on Wednesday.



Jalandhar:The department of physics, DAV University, Jalandhar organised a week-long short-term course on the topic “Influences of the sun on earth and the solar system” which concluded on Wednesday. The course was conducted by renowned astrophysicist Dr Tulasi Nandan Parashar, research scientist, University of Delaware, USA and former NASA research associate. A series of lectures conducted by the scientist were accompanied by simulated and actual videos from NASA.  Dr AK Paul, Vice Chancellor, DAV university presented a memento to Dr Tulasi during the vote of thanks addressed by Dr Rajiv Kumar, coordinator, department of physics. New courses

Jalandhar: Director of the Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology (NIIFT), Inderjit Singh, on Friday said the entrance test for admission to the institute had been scheduled for June 4. Terming fashion designing , textile designing, garment manufacturing technology, fashion marketing and management as arenas of optimum opportunities for occupational entrepreneurships and employment at national and international levels, he claimed the institute being run by the Department of Industries had been able to provide almost 100 per cent placements to its students. Interacting with media personson Friday, NIIFT Deputy Registrar Poonam announced new courses at the institute. TNS
