DEO, SSP visit vulnerable booths

JALANDHAR: District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Kamal Kishor Yadav and Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar (rural), SS Mann, today visited vulnerable booths and pockets in the Adampur and Kartarpur Assembly constituencies, to inculcate a sense of security among voters and to motivate them for casting their votes without any fear, greed and influence.

District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Kamal Kishor Yadav and Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar (rural), SS Mann, today visited vulnerable booths and pockets in the Adampur and Kartarpur Assembly constituencies, to inculcate a sense of security among voters and to motivate them for casting their votes without any fear, greed and influence.

While interacting with voters, Yadav said people can contact the district election authorities and police officers directly to lodge a complaint if anybody tries to influence a voter with cash or by creating fear among them. He assured that action would be taken immediately in such cases. He also informed people that to inculcate a sense of security, such polling booths would be covered with CCTVs, web casting and para military forces. The District Election Officer also encouraged voters for their maximum participation during the upcoming Assembly elections to strengthen the democratic process.

The DEO and the SSP also said that the people can contact the Police Control Room telephone no. 100 and toll free no. 1800-180-1612 of the District Election Complaint Cell to register their election-related complaints. Mann also directed police officials of the police stations concerned to visit regularly to such areas to build a strong rapport with the people and motivate them to cast their votes fearlessly.
