Jalandhar, December 7

The candidates have finally started door-to-door canvassing in their wards. They have come up with innovative ways to woo the voters. Some had even announced their individual manifestos for the development of wards highlighting the priority in the area while others have planned to take out ‘Jaago’ in late night hours. Some of them are planning a series of ‘nukkad natak’ to highlight the concern of their areas. Some candidates are also holding road meetings in some areas.

While the sitting candidates are highlighting the achievements of the last 10 years of the SAD-BJP rule, the Congress candidates are focusing on the work that will soon begin in their areas.

However, the MLAs were not seen holding any major meeting today to chalk out strategy. The candidates have opened their election offices at their places. Posters, banners displaying their names, pictures and election symbols dot many wards in the city.

As many as 80 candidates are trying their luck to occupy the chair of the councillor in the Town Hall, the seat of the municipality and elect the new Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
