Phagwara: The Rawalpindi Police have arrested a drug peddler Ravinder Dass and recovered 2,000 capsules of Parvon and 3,000 tablets of Alprax from his possession. He is a migrant from Uttar Pradesh.
Labourer electrocuted
A migrant labourer from Uttar Pradesh was electrocuted in Khalwara village on Saturday. The deceased, Pappu, was unloading a truck when he came in contact with live high tension wires. The police have registered a case and sent the body to the civil hospital for the post-mortem examination.
Complaint lodged
On a complaint lodged by Guru Ravi Dass Tiger Force leader Yash Barna, the Sadar Police have registered a case under Section 295 A of the IPC against unknown persons on the charges of desecration of Guru Granth Sahib in the Barna village recently. The investigation is underway. No arrest has been made till so far.
Purse snatched
Two armed motorcycle-borne robbers snatched a purse containing three mobile phones, one passport, debit cards, cash worth Rs 15,000 and two hundred Euros from an NRI woman, Amandeep Kaur, near Subhash Chowk on Friday night. She was returning home in a rickshaw. The police have registered a case under Section 379B of the IPC. The police is investigating the matter. —OC
