The police said during primary investigation, it had come out that the gang had stolen the two-wheelers from various parts of Punjab and Chandigarh.

SSP Elanchezhian Jayabalan said the Mukerian police had received information that a vehicle thief gang had hidden some stolen vehicles at an abandoned Gujjar Dera on the road going from Medinipur to Mansoorpur. Based on this information, a police party, led by Supritendent of Police (Investigation) HS Mandher, DSP Mukerian Ravinder Singh and station house officer of the Mukerian police station Karnail Singh conducted a raid at the said place.
