Jalandhar, January 11

With AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal arriving in the district on January 13, preparations for his road show are on a war footing.

While the road show will primarily pass through the urban Jalandhar constituencies of Jalandhar, sources said at least 600 vehicles will be a part of the road show which traverse city streets from 11 am to 5 pm on the occasion of Lohri.

The road show will start from the Mc Donald Chowk, moving on through Shastri Market, Ghara Chowk, Model Town Market, Mata Rani Chowk (Model Town), Jhandian Wala Peer Chowk, Kapurthala Chowk, Santokhpura and Devi Talab Mandir.

All candidates have been told to arrange vehicles for the show.

While Sanjay Singh held meetings with city-based industrialists a few days ago, it will be Kejriwal’s first visit to Jalandhar after Delhi Deputy Chief Minister’s "explosive" comment that people should vote considering Kejriwal as the Punjab Chief Minister.

Kejriwal, himself, issued a statement today which, however, retracted that statement saying he will not forsake his post as the Delhi Chief Minister.

AAP sources said “We have applied for permission for the road show. It’s primarily being directed at the urban constituencies. All four candidates from the urban constituencies will be present on the occasion while some from rural ones are also likely to be present."
