The police have claimed to have solved the murder mystery of a woman and her son at a feed factory in Rasulpur village in which the victim woman’s other son was also found dead in Himachal Pradesh.

The Bangana police of Himachal Pradesh (HP) claimed that she had herself killed her elder son with the help of her paramour, as he had seen him in a compromising position and threatened to tell his uncle about it. They had thrown his body in the Sakon area in HP.

The Bangana police arrested the accused from Jaipur in Rajasthan.

On September 29, when the factory was searched on the information of factory owner Renu Chowdhury, blood-drenched bodies of Jaspal Kaur and her son were recovered from under the straw lying in the room behind the factory. Police investigation had revealed that Jaspal Kaur was a resident of Sujjo village of Nawanshahr district and her brother-in-law had identified the bodies. It was a challenge for the police to solve the case as the woman’s other son, Jaskaran, was missing and it was proving to be a difficult task for the police to trace him.

The Garhshankar police had met her relatives and acquaintances and other places while looking for Jaskran Singh, but nothing could be known about him.

After this, cops contacted police stations of border district of Himachal Pradesh and it was found that Jaskaran Singh was killed and was thrown near Sakaun village. After this, the HP and Garhshankar police conducted a joint campaign to arrest the accused. According to police sources, they got to know about the location of accused Sandeep Kumar by tracing his mobile calls. Based on it, a raid was conducted and Sandeep, alias Deepa, was arrested from Jaipur in Rajasthan.

After September 12, Sandeep Kumar, alias Deepa, and Jaspal Kaur along with her sons, went to Pir Nigaha, falling in Una district of Himachal Pradesh. There, Jaskaran saw Sandeep and Jaspal in a compromising position and threatened them that he would narrate the things to his uncle. Incidentally, Sandeep, along with Jaspal Kaur, had killed Jaskaran.

Kamal Nain, SHO police station, Bangana in Una, said the body of the boy was recovered from near Sakaun and after contacting the SHO, Garhshankar, Balwinder Kumar Jauda, the identity of the boy could be confirmed as he told that Jaskaran did not have two fingers on his right hand. After it, Deepa was nabbed from Jaipur in a joint search operation with the Garhshankar police.

Jauda said, “After being contacted by the HP police, we had laid a trap to apprehend the accused and then in a joint operation, along with the HP police, the accused Sandeep was caught from Jaipur. We would be seeking his remand to ascertain the cause behind the murder of woman and her son in the factory of Rasulpur.”
