One held with 50 gm of heroin

In its ongoing drive against drug trade, the CIA Staff of the Jalandhar Rural Police today claimed to have arrested a man for allegedly possessing 50 gm of heroin.

The accused wasidentified as RohitMehra, a resident ofFarala village in Nawanshahr district.

The police said he was arrested from the Adampur Bhogpur road.

The police said while patrolling the area when they stopped the car, bearing registrationNo. PB 08 BE 9602,near Nijjran Gate, they recovered the heroin from the accused.

The police said a first information report had been registered against him under the Narcotics Drugs and Pyschtropic (NDPS) Act.
