Keeping in view the tension that arises due to the staging of protests and dharnas by political and social organisations from time to time, it has been decided to call a meeting of the civil and police administration with prominent citizens to decide upon a place for staging protests and dharnas. Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Jyoti Bala, who presided over the meeting, said all such organisations would be able to demonstrate at the local Rest House Park to prevent chaos and save the citizens from inconvenience.

Superintendent of Police Harwinder Singh Sandhu, in his address, appealed to residents to maintain peace and harmony in the town. He urged the political parties and social activists to inform the administration before staging protest so that the officer concerned could come to the site to receive a memorandum from the protesters.
