SAD resorts to drama: Mann

Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Mann today took a dig at former chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal for holding a dharna last night. Terming him idle, Mann said he was indulging in futile exercises and disturbing law and order in the state when his government did nothing to uphold people’s rights.

Addressing the media here, he said the Badals, who claim to champion the cause of Dalits, the poor labourers, actually did nothing on the ground level.

He sought that the political establishment should instead raise the issues of the atrocities against Dalits and poor and these issues should be raised in the Parliament. He also said while there was talk of an apology regarding the Jalliwanwala Bagh Massacre, no politician from the state had taken up the issue of the killing of devotees in the Golden Temple complex.
