Two held with illicit liquor

JALANDHAR: The Basti Bawa Khel police today arrested two persons with illicit liquor from various locations in the area.

The Basti Bawa Khel police today arrested two persons with illicit liquor from various locations in the area. The police also held another person as he could not pay the loan for his car.

The accused were identified as Amandeep Singh, a resident of Rama Mandi, Kulvir Singh, a resident of Basti Nau and Ashok Kumar of Basti Sheikh.

According to area SHO Govinder Singh, Kulvir Singh was arrested with three cases of illicit liquor near Basti Guzan check post while Ashok Kumar was caught with 20 bottles of liquor from the 120-foot road. Amandeep was caught from Rama Mandi check post with a car for which he had been unable to pay installments.

While the police had already registered a case against him at the complaints filed by the financer, his family members too were named in the FIR lodged earlier with the police. The police have lodged complaints in all three cases.
