Vajra Corps displays military equipment at two-day event

JALANDHAR: To celebrate Independence Day, the Vajra Corps displayed military equipment during a two-day event at Katoch Stadium in Jalandhar Cantonment.

To celebrate Independence Day, the Vajra Corps displayed military equipment during a two-day event at Katoch Stadium in Jalandhar Cantonment.

The event organised as part of the “Know our Forces” initiative concluded today. The aim of the two-day event was to increase awareness about the armed forces and motivate the youth to join these forces.

The power of the Army was showcased at the event. Long range artillery guns; versatile and lethal tanks; state-of-the-art infantry weapons, modern surveillance equipment, hi-tech communication equipment, specialist vehicles and many more advanced weapons were the highlights of the event.

The event was inaugurated by Lt Gen BS Sahrawat, General Officer Commanding, Vajra Corps. Addressing the gathering, he said apart from delivering decisive blows to the enemy wherever required, the Indian Army had contributed to the nation building in a significant manner.

He emphasised on the professional values of physical and mental fitness, knowing your job well and self-discipline among all troops of the Vajra Corps.

The officer also urged the youth to join the Army and serve the nation.

A large number of students from various schools, including Army Public School, Kendriya Vidyalaya and Vajra Army Pre Primary School, attended the event.

It was also attended by NCC cadets, who came in large numbers.
