Jalandhar: Students of the Seth Hukam Chand SD Public Senior Secondary School, Sangal Sohal- Variana, Kapurthala Road, bid adieu to the batch of seniors by giving a Valediction party. The celebration commenced with a prayer and welcome of Principal Priyanka Sharma. Placement drive organised
Phagwara: “Protolabz eServices” conducted a campus placement drive at the Ramgarhia Institute of Engineering and Technology, Phagwara, offering jobs to selected students of MBA with pay packages ranging from 1.2 to 1.8 Lakh per annum, along with posting choice at Phagwara. Sonpreet Kaur, head, training and placement explained that Protolabz eServices team, led by Bhanu Madan and Ravi Shankar Bhardwaj, CEO and CTO of RIET, took the initiative to become entrepreneurs, instead of seeking jobs and became a job provider to young talent. The selection process comprised three levels, aptitude test, group discussion and personal interview. As many as 80 candidates appeared for the test. Twenty students were shortlisted and finally two students got job offers. Dr. Naveen Dhillon, Principal RIET congratulated the successful students and thanked the team for making RIET Institution as their preferred campus for placements. —TNS
Lecture on journalism
Jalandhar: At Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, an event on contemporary journalism was held. Prof BK Kuthiala, vice- chancellor Makhanlal Chaturvedi Rashtriya Patrakarita Evam Jansanchar Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh was the guest lecturer for the day. The topic of his lecture was ‘Contemporary journalism: Future and prospects’. He was formally welcomed by Vice-Principal Seema Jain. The interactive session began with questions from students. Replying to whether journalism is a mirror of society, he said a journalist’s own view point was seeped in virtual and real images of society and total objectivity was not possible. —TNS
