JALANDHAR: A woman was found brutally murdered at her house in the Hardip Nagar area here today.

A woman was found brutally murdered at her house in the Hardip Nagar area here today.

Police sources said the woman seemed to have been raped as her private parts were found to have been damaged brutally by her assailant.

The deceased was identified as Sita Devi (52) who was staying at her ancestral home. She was divorced 22 years ago and since then, she was staying alone in the house.

Upon getting the information, Police Commissioner Praveen Sinha reached the spot along with senior officials. Sita Devi’s body was found to be without clothes and the assailants had slit her throat with some sharp-edged weapons.

The police though have found a mobile near her body but the SIM card was found missing from it.

While her husband got married again, Sita Devi was staying with her brother. Her brother had moved out from her house after getting married around 10 years ago and since then she was living alone in the house.
