Two persons were injured after a tussle broke out between two youths at a restaurant inside Chunmun City Mall near Jawahar Nagar. As shots were fired by one of the youths outside the mall following the scuffle, it caused injuries to a youth from the opposite group.

Station House Officer of police station division 6, Subhash Chander said, “A scuffle took place between a youth, Navdeep (30) and a housekeeping staff member of the restaurant, Ankit, due to an old enmity. While both the parties called in some of their friends, later Navdeep reportedly fired four or five shots in the air outside the mall. Navdeep and a friend of Ankit named Rohit (25) have been injured in the incident. While Navdeep was admitted to the Civil Hospital, Rohit was admitted to a private hospital. Both of them are now receiving treatment.”

The SHO said Rohit had alleged that shots fired by Navdeep brushed past the right thumb of his hand as well as his shirt causing injuries to him. The SHO, however, confirmed none of them were fatally injured.

In a video of the incident which surfaced later this evening, a youth is seen firing outside the restaurant of the mall, towards the toes of some youths standing around him and also chasing away one of the youths by hurling a stone at him.
