The city police have arrested 11 persons under the Immoral Trafficking and Protection Act.
Those arrested were produced in the court today.
Giving details, ACP Sachin Gupta and other police officials said on getting a tip-off, a raid was conducted and men and women involved in immoral trafficking were arrested.
The police said the racket was being run by one Pushpa.
Almost all those involved in this unethical activity were from the states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar and were living in the city at rented accommodations.
Seven of the total arrested people are women from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, while four men also belong to Bihar/Uttar Pradesh.
Pushpa used to run the racket at her house and charge Rs500 from each customer.
She used to give Rs100 to women and the remaining amount was kept by her.
