27-yr-old man’s body recovered from canal

LUDHIANA: A body of a 27-year-old man, missing for the past two days, was recovered from a canal near Sudhar today.

A body of a 27-year-old man, missing for the past two days, was recovered from a canal near Sudhar today.

The deceased has been identified as Manjinder Singh (27).

Deceased’s mother Karamjit Kaur, the police have registered a murder case against Varinder Singh of Rajgarh village. She said the accused took her son with him on the pretext of getting a ticket to Dubai.

After sometime, when her son did not return, the family members called Varinder. But he said since Manjinder was busy in paper work he would talk to them later. Varinder told Manjinder’s family that he came to Mullanpur after the document work got completed, but he was not aware about their son. On Monday, Manjinder’s body was found from Abohar Branch canal near Sudhar. The onlookers spotted the body and informed the police. Following the statement of the family of the deceased, the police have registered a case under Section 302 (murder), 201 (destroying evidence) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC.

The police have launched a manhunt to arrest the accused. Sources say the accused must have flown to Dubai. — TNS
