LUDHIANA: The city police have booked three persons, including a woman, for committing Rs 65 lakh fraud. The accused have been identified as Vishal, his wife Ritu, and Ritu Bhalla, all residents of BRS Nagar.

The accused have been identified as Vishal, his wife Ritu, and Ritu Bhalla, all residents of BRS Nagar. The complainant, Piyush, of MSRJ Enterprises stated to the police that the accused owned Rs 65 lakh to him. Whenever he asked the accused to repay the amount, they threatened him with dire consequences. The police have registered a case of cheating and criminal conspiracy against the accused after conducting an inquiry. No arrests have made so far. TNS

Doctor booked for negligence

Ludhiana: The city police have booked a doctor of the CMC Hospital for negligence while treating an elderly man at the hospital. The doctor, identified as Nitin Malhotra, was booked along with his staff members. The complainant Yashpal, a resident of Ghati Valmik, stated to the police that his father was undergoing treatment at the CMC Hospital for the past few days. He said as doctors attending to his father did not pay proper attention he died on October 12. Notably, on Thursday night, the kin of the deceased had also protested outside the hospital for over two hours. They stopped the protest after the police intervened and pacified them. TNS
