Car-borne robbers looted Rs 4,200 and six cartons of English liquor from a liquor shop at Farour village, near here, on Wednesday night.
In a statement to the police, Kundan Singh Kahlon, in charge of the Khamano circle of wine contractors, has said on Wednesday night, he, along with some person, visited the village to collect cash from the liquor shop. They noticed three persons with muffled faces scuffling with the employees at the liquor shop. A man, who had covered his face too, was sitting in a car. The attackers took away Rs 4,200 and six cartons of English liquor, as per information given by the employees. The ASI, Taranjit Singh, investigating officer, said they were collecting CCTV footage to identify the accused.
3-yr jail for possessing charas
Ludhiana: Additional Sessions Judge Virinder Aggarwal convicted Mukesh Malagarof Uttam Nagar, Khanna, on charge of illegally possessing charas. He was ordered to undergo imprisonment for three years and pay fine of Rs 2,000. The accused was found in possession of 700-gram charas. He was booked under the NDPS Act at the GRP police station on February 12, 2014.
