DGP meets commissionerate officials

LUDHIANA: The DGP, Punjab Police, Suresh Arora met officials of the Ludhiana Commissionerate late in the night here today.

The DGP, Punjab Police, Suresh Arora met officials of the Ludhiana Commissionerate late in the night here today. The meeting was attended by Police Commissioner RN Dhoke along with two DCPs, all ADCPs, ACPs and SHOs. The meeting lasted for around two hours.

The DGP was first briefed about the ongoing activities of the Ludhiana police against criminal. Arora inquired about the ongoing investigation in the murder of Hindu activist Amit Sharma. He directed officials to intensify probe in the matter so that culprits could be put behind the bars. The DGP also asked policemen to augment functioning of the cyber cell so that it could trace leads whenever any criminal or gangster posted threatening message on social networking site.

“Send me a proposal to upgrade the cyber cell and I will ensure approval at the earliest for better policing,” the DGP added.

The Commissioner of Police Rajinder Dhoke said the DGP had assured all kind of help whether in terms of infrastructure or any other resources. “DGP has also assured fair reward to any policeman, who brings any lead in Amit Sharma murder case or other murders, including that of RSS leader Jagdish Gagneja or Dera Sacha Sauda followers killing,” Dhoke said. “DGP has motivated the force for better policing and I have assured to deliver justice to residents,” he added. Arora also asked policemen not to indulge in any corrupt activities else strict action would be taken against the guilty.
