Pardeep Kaur, daughter-in-law of the SAD-BJP candidate from the Samrala constituency SS Umaidpuri, makes sure that when her father-in-law returns home at night after hectic schedule (campaigning), he gets hot chapattis in dinner made by her.

“I take care of my father-in-law’s health, especially during these election days. I provide him with nutritious breakfast because after that he visits villages and there is no fixed schedule for lunch. Then at night, when he returns home after hectic activities, I serve him dinner and make hot chapattis,” said Pardeep Kaur.

A graduate, Pardeep Kaur and her husband Jaskaran Singh (Umaidpuri’s only son) are the pillars of strength for the SAD-BJP candidate from the Samrala constituency. While father makes own programme of canvassing, both son and daughter-in-law chalk out their programmes and visit several villages, along with party workers/women supporters, etc separately/together.

Umaidpuri’s daughter-in-law said since her mother-in-law was not too active due to her ailing knees, she does everything for “daddy ji’s” campaigning in villages.

“Both my children go to school. Dadaji nu vote paayo - they ask their fellow beings to support the grandfather. We are getting good response from the villagers in the constituency. Winning or losing elections is a part of the game, but we are always there to support daddy ji,” said the daughter-in-law.
