LUDHIANA: Students of Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, stamped their superiority by winning nine medals, including six gold medals, in different weight groups in the recently held Ludhiana District Inter-School Karate Tournament.

Students of Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, stamped their superiority by winning nine medals, including six gold medals, in different weight groups in the recently held Ludhiana District Inter-School Karate Tournament.

In the girls’ category (under-14), Suhani Thakur proved her mettle by clinching a gold medal and in the boys’ section (under-14), Princepreet Singh and Sameer Virdi secured gold medals while Chirag Kumar won the bronze medal.

In the boys’ section (under-19), three students from the school — Jaan Nisar Alam, Md Amajad Raza Ansari and Rizul Saryal — bagged top honours.

Besides, two silver medals were bagged by Gursharan Kumar and Abhishek Sharma in the boys’ (under-14) group.

For their outstanding performance in this tournament, six students from the school — Suhani Thakur, Princepreet Singh, Sameer Virdi, Jaan-Nisar Alam, Amazad Raza and Rizul — were selected for the Punjab State Inter-School Karate Championship.

Principal, Jyoti appreciated the students’ achievement and wished them success in future.
