Ludhiana: Atam Devki Niketan celebrated Janmasthami and 70th Independence Day with great zeal. The celebration began by depicting various tableaux from Lord Krishna's life. To mark Independence Day celebration, Hindi poem recitation competition based on the theme-'Patriotism' was held in which kids of primary section participated.
DAV Public School
The school campus was abuzz with activity and was decked up in Tricolour flag. Rajinder Kaur Narula , President, DAV New Delhi, was the chief guest of the function and hoisted the national flag. The dance presentations on patriotic songs filled people with reverence and pride for the motherland.
Sacred Heart , Khanna
To commemorate the Independence Day, jubilant celebrations were held on the campus of Sacred Heart Convent Senior Secondary School, Khanna. Gurkirat Singh Kotli, Hanna MLA, was the chief guest. The campus was decked up with artistic creations presented on display boards along with our Tricolour. The entire programme was a great success under the guidance of Rev Fr Robin Azad, the director of the school and Rev. Sr. Virgin, the Principal.
Om Prakash Public School
An Independence Day function was organised at Om Prakash Bansal Memorial Public School. Prior to the celebrations, various activities like flag-making activity, slogan writing, poster- making and creative writing on "Being proud Indian" were held in the primary wing of the school. The function was celebrated with great patriotic fervor and zeal. The students showcased a kaleidoscope of cultural programmes which consisted of songs, speeches, dances and recitations by the students reflecting the importance of the day.
Guru Harkrishan school
Independence Day was celebrated at Sri Guru Harkrishan Public Senior Secondary School, Doraha, with pomp and show. The chief guest, Amarjit Singh, (trust member) hoisted the national flag followed by the recitation of national anthem. The school Director Karamvir Singh and school Head Jaspreet Kaur were also present on the occasion. Patriotic poems and songs were recited by the students of different classes. Some students also presented the group dance, skits and bhangra .
Green Land Convent School
Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana The school celebrated Janmashtami. Traditional dances were presented and chanting of bhajans filled the entire atmosphere with religious fervor. A 'matki phod' event was also organised to mark the mischievous nature of Lord Krishna . The tiny tots were dressed up in attires of Radha, Sudama and ‘gopis’ — TNS .
