The students, teachers, centre superintendents, assistant superintends, coordinators and principals were all in for a state of shock today as Paper-II of MA (English) of evening session failed to convey from inside, what it indicated on the outer leaf. The Paper-II of MA English, semester II was of ‘British Poetry’.

Everything went well till the start of the paper. The paper conveyed the title correctly, but as it was opened the trouble began to brew as the students read the questions one after the other and they found that there was no question of British poetry but the questions dealt with ‘Fiction’ which was paper –IV.

This lead to commotion at various examination centers. The assistant superintendent on duty in various classes informed the superintendents of their centers who further informed the principals. The principals then asked for correct papers from the university, and later the question papers were given to the colleges within an hour.

"This is the height of callousness on the part of the defaulter whoever he or she is. Earlier, the paper of Political Science of MA conveyed on the title 'Political Thought' but inside it conveyed something else. The same incident was repeated again,” said a teacher

“Such callousness should not be tolerated. The students had to suffer a lot. Apart from this, there was a lot of confusion at various examination centres which was difficult to handle. Many students prepare their exams late night and such careless attitudes over-burden them as they have to prepare for next exam” shared a concerned teacher.

A senator from Panjab University said, “The issue needs to be looked into minutely. A thorough probe should be conducted into the matter and the defaulter should not be allowed to go scot-free as such people have no right to play with the future of thousands of students which may be at stake due to their negligency.”
