Man booked for thrashing kin

Sahnewal: A resident from Gehlewal village was booked by the Koom Kalan police for beating and abusing a person called Harpreet Singh in his fields on Thursday.



Sahnewal: A resident from Gehlewal village was booked by the Koom Kalan police for beating and abusing a person called Harpreet Singh in his fields on Thursday.  Harpreet lodged a complaint against his cousin Iqbal Singh, son of Ajmer Singh of village Gehlewal. He said he came to Iqbal’s fields as he was already working there on his plot. Harpreet accused Iqbal of stealing mud from his plot to level his fields. As the complainant objected, Iqbal began to use abusive language against Harpreet and manhandled him. The police registered a case under Sections 323, 324 of the IPC against the alleged accused.

One booked under Mining Act

A resident of Bhagpur village was booked under Mining Act as could not produce any receipt of mud when asked by the police to during a naka at Dhanansu chowk.  Inderjit Singh son of Farikiya Singh was caught red handed by sub-inspector Jagtar Singh when he was bringing a loaded tipper from Budhewal side. He was stopped by the sub inspector and on checking, the tipper was found to be loaded with mud. A case under 379 of the IPC, 21 of Mining Act 1957 was registered against Inderjit Singh at the Sahnewal Police Station

10-gm heroin seized

The anti-narcotic cell of Ludhiana recovered 10 gram of heroin from the custody of a resident of Bhama Kalan village in Koom Kalan.  The Sub-Inspecto,r Rampal Singh of the Ludhiana cell, was on duty at Partapgarh chowk when he stopped a person called Harjinder Singh son of Kirpal Singh. He was coming in his car. After searching his car, the cell officials recovered 10 gram of heroin from the custody of the accused. He wasdriving his swift ca. The number of the car was PB 10EM(T) 9644.   A case under the NDPS Act was registered against the accused at Koom Kalan police station. OC
