Owners, staff of resto-bars booked in raids

Taking strict action against resto-bars for serving liquor after midnight, the police raided prominent bars last night and booked their owners and staff.

Surendra Lamba, Additional DCP, said despite repeated warnings, these resto-bars continued to violate the rules. Raids were conducted at several bars last night, he added.

The raiding team found that liquor was being served at the F-9 bar in Pavilion Mall after midnight. Its manager, Sunil Kumar, and owner were booked. At R2 Party Bar on the Ferozepur road, Arun Bagga (owner) and Sandeep Thakur (manager) were booked. Later, the team raided Hong Kong Restaurant in Saraba Nagar where its owner and manager were booked for violating the rules of Excise Act.  At the Mad Blend restaurant in BRS Nagar, its owner Rohit Kumar and manager Manoj were booked.

Meanwhile, the police booked Pankaj Sharma of Janpath Enclave and Ishant Singla of Saraba Nagar for consuming liquor in their respective cars.

During late night checking in the Dabbu market, the police challaned three persons for drunken driving.

Earlier in September, the police had conducted raids at restro-bars, including R2P, Underdog, Spice Cube, Peddlers and Unplugged.
