Parents associations from different schools had a meeting today at the Circuit House in Ludhiana today.

After the discussion regarding the school fee, the members said that as results of the fee committee decisions have come in their favour. Now, they will apprise of the same to the Education Department, DPI (Schools), and district administration to seek refunds from schools for the ‘extra’ fee and inordinate annual charges that they had to pay to schools.

“We will also write to the Divisional Commisssioner to get the decisions of the fee committee be implemented within 30 days. If it is not done, then we will approach to the Punjab and Haryana High Court in this matter,” said Swaroop Singh, one of the parents said.

The members said looting of parents was being done in the name of education and ‘school mafia’ must not be allowed to carry on their own unfair will in the decisions regarding the school fee.
