Ludhiana, October 15

The day witnessed heavy footfall, as Saras Mela will conclude tomorrow. Being the second and last Sunday of the 12-day fair, many of the residents, who couldn’t visit the fair earlier or had not shopped enough made a beeline for the fair.

Vehicles were seen parked at different places in the varsity. Unlike the past few years, the atmosphere was bustling even during the afternoon due to the steady stream of visitors to the fair.

A number of cultural presentations, performances and dances from various states of the country were showcased.

Artists of the North Zone Cultural Centre regaled the visitors. Acrobats from Dekh village of Bathinda jumped several feet up in the air to gather the wonder and applause of visitors.

Volunteers of EcoSikh also campaigned for Green Diwali. They held placards and banners which had messages for promoting cracker-free and Green Diwali.
