Jagraon: A plantation drive was held at Sanmati Government College of Science Education and Research, Jagraon, to commemorate vanamahotsva on Saturday. College Director Prof Gurcharan Singh was the chief guest. He appreciated the efforts of the college management for maintaining the green look on the campus. He also enlightened the students on saving the environment. Later, Prof Gurcharan Singh, along with other faculty members of the college, planted saplings. The college students also pledged to make efforts to save environment. The college students presented songs and skits on the topic of environment. A poster-making contest was also organised. — OC
