LUDHIANA: Normalcy had not yet been restored in the erratic railway traffic in the region, as the Railways cancelled two trains today while many others were running behind schedule.

Normalcy had not yet been restored in the erratic railway traffic in the region, as the Railways cancelled two trains today while many others were running behind schedule.

Sources said the 12413 Ajmer-Jammu Pooja Express and the 13006 Amritsar-Howrah Mail were cancelled for the day.

Harassed passengers, particularly those travelling to various destinations in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and other states to join their families for Diwali and Chath Pooja, blamed the railway authorities for causing hardships to them due to cancellation and late running of long-route trains.

Trains running late were the 12331 Howrah-Jammu Himgiri Express (20.05 hrs), the 12332 Jammu-Howrah Himgiri Express (13 hrs), the 14649 Jaynagar-Amritsar Saryu-Yamuna Express (11.35 hrs), the 15209 Saharsa-Amritsar Jansewa Express (10.40 hrs), the 14650 Amritsar-Jaynagar Saryu-Yamuna Express (9.30 hrs), the 12491 Barauni-Jammu Maur Dhwaj Express (9.30 hrs), the 15212 Amritsar-Darbhanga Jannayak Epress (8.40 hrs), the 15707 Katihar-Amritsar Amrapali Express (7.25 hrs), the 18101 Tatanagar-Jammu Express (5.12 hrs), the 11058 Amritsar-CST Mumbai (4.05 hrs), the 12203 Saharsa-Amritsar Garib Rath (5.05 hrs), the 15210 Amritsar-Saharsa Jansewa Express (3.05 hrs), the 13049 Howrah-Amritsar Express (2.50 hrs), the 12413 Ajmer-Jammu Pooja Express (2.40 hrs), the 12460 Amritsar-New Delhi Intercity Express (2.30 hrs), the 14681 New Delhi-Jalandhar Intercity Express (2.45 hrs), the 12317 Kolkata-Amritsar Akaltakht Express (2.50 hrs), the 15211 Darbhanga-Amritsar Jannayak Express (2.25 hrs).
