Kurukshetra, March 24

The 9th State-Level Sports Meet for persons with disabilities started at the Dronacharya Stadium here today.

About 1,200 students with special needs from various districts of the state are participating in the three-day event. Inaugurating the programme, Krishan Bedi, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, said the state government was providing all facilities to boost the morale of differently abled persons.

The minister said the government formed several policies to support and rehabilitate persons with disabilities.

He directed Dharamveer Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, to complete certification of the disabled persons to ensure they get welfare pension from May. —TNS
