DEHRADUN: A total of 203 units of blood were donated at a camp held at the Sardar Bhagwan Singh Postgraduate Institute of Biomedical Sciences and Research, Balawala, here today.

Dehradun, March 30

A total of 203 units of blood were donated at a camp held at the Sardar Bhagwan Singh Postgraduate Institute of Biomedical Sciences and Research, Balawala, here today.

Institute chairman SP Singh said the institute had been frequently organising blood donation camps as there was no greater charity on earth other than donating blood. He said even a drop of blood could save a life.

Director Prof FC Garg motivated students, faculty members and other staff to participate actively in the blood donation camp. Students, faculties and non-teaching staff actively participated in the noble campaign with great enthusiasm.

The donors went through a series of medical checkups before donating blood. The response to the camp was excellent. The donors were given the certificate of appreciation along with complimentary gifts.

The camp was organised under the aegis of the Indian Medical Association Blood Bank, Dehradun, and Blood Bank, Himalayan Hospital, Jolly Grant, Dehradun.
