Chandigarh, July 29
The UT police has come up with awards for cops from the ranks of constable to inspector for demonstrating the highest level of professionalism, dedication and sincerity while discharging duty. As a part of the initiative, 24 police officials were awarded today.
Among those awarded during the felicitation ceremony were an inspector, four sub-inspectors, an assistant sub-inspector, eight head constables, a senior constable, seven constables, a Home Guards volunteer and a junior assistant. Constable Varinder, posted at Maloya police station, was awarded for playing an instrumental role in gathering information in the infamous fake currency case recently registered by the Chandigarh Police. — TNS
Pipping ceremony of 4 DSPs
Chandigarh: The pipping ceremony of four newly promoted DSPs — Uday Pal, Yash Pal, Nitya Nand and Jaswinder Singh — was held at the Police Lines in Sector 26, Chandigarh, on Friday. IGP Tajender Singh Luthra was the chief guest on the occasion. — TNS
