Mohali, January 6
As many as 37 samples of milk out of 58 were found adulterated at an awareness-cum-testing camp organised by the Punjab Dairy Development Board in Sector 70 here today. The board found that 37 samples of milk were adulterated with water. However, the remaining 21 samples were found to be as per the specification.
Speakers at the camp laid stress on the importance of milk and said only an aware consumer could help check adulteration.
Meanwhile, the residents were informed that free checking of milk could be conducted at the district-level offices of the board.
Those interested in holding milk-testing camps can contact the district-level offices or call on 0172-2700228. — OC
