54 new dengue cases in Mohali, 25 in city

Chandigarh: The number of dengue cases recorded in the tricity and surrounding areas today reached 1,498. While the Mohali district recorded 54 fresh cases of dengue, 25 were reported from various health centres across Chandigarh, along with 11 fresh chikungunya cases.

The number of dengue cases recorded in the tricity and surrounding areas today reached 1,498. While the Mohali district recorded 54 fresh cases of dengue, 25 were reported from various health centres across Chandigarh, along with 11 fresh chikungunya cases. Also, three fresh cases of dengue were reported from Panchkula.

The health departments of Mohali, Chandigarh and Panchkula are conducting various activities to strengthen the control and prevention of dengue-chikungunya, including daily fumigation, mass awareness, checking of breeding sources like coolers, containers, tyres and other sources.
