Dehradun, March 27
Activists of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) launched a road safety campaign here today. The theme of the campaign was ‘slow drive and save drive’.
They took out a rally from Lansdowne Chowk to Darshan Lal Chowk, displaying placards, and sensitised people to road safety. They also helped police personnel to manage traffic.
“The motive of the drive is to reduce road accidents and promote traffic norms. Roads are congested with vehicles, but people are unaware of traffic rules. Due to this, there is a surge in the cases of accidents and road rage,” said Kaushal Kumar, city president of the ABVP.
“It is important to launch road safety campaigns to spread awareness among people. Carelessness can become fatal for you or someone else. The ABVP will continue such drives and provide all possible support to the traffic personnel,” he added.
Arun Chamoli, Pradeep Shekhawat, Sachin Naithani, Devendra Singh and Pankaj Bhatt were present on the occasion.
