The Tourism Department will set up an amusement park on Zamanabad road here. The park will be established on 1.9 acres belonging to the Bajjreshwari Temple Trust. The area is popularly known as ‘Mata ka Bagh’. The project will be funded by the Asian Development Bank.
Manoj Sharma, additional director, Department of Tourism, told The Tribune that Rs 3 crores would be spent on the construction of the amusement park, adding it would feature a musical fountain, coffee shop, seating area for visitors, shopping area and two toilet blocks for men and women.
Sharma said the contract for the project had been awarded to MCC Power Projects Private Limited, adding the work would be completed within two years. The temple trust has granted no objection certificate for the project.
Earlier, the temple trust had decided to build a home for research scholars but the plan was shelved.
