With the filing of nomination papers for the February 4 poll coming to an end, the administration has decided to intensify the campaign to motivate the youth to cast their vote.

Training and awareness programmes were held in DAV College, DAV College of Education and Gopichand Arya Mahila College under the SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) programme.

After a motivational lecture by SDM Jaspreet Singh, the youth were told about the functioning of EVMs.

Senior educationists Dr Urmil Sethi, Anil Makkar and Alka Jaiswal said they had already held poster-making and declamation contests in their colleges to inspire eligible youths to get enrolled as voters and ensure that their vote is cast properly.
