Another Volvo from Nurpur to Chd

The Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) today started its second Volvo bus service from Nurpur to Chandigarh.

According to Raj Kumar Jaryal, Regional Manager, HRTC, Pathankot depot, this bus would leave Nurpur at 5 am and reach Chandigarh via Jassur, Talwara, Una and Nangal at 10.30 am. He said this bus would start its return journey from Chandigarh at 4.10 pm and arrive at Nurpur at 9.30 pm.

He informed that the bus fare for this route was Rs 646 per seat and would be beneficial for students and employees of lower Kangra district who earlier had to travel up to Pathankot for boarding private Volvo buses in the wee hours of the day to reach Chandigarh.

Earlier, the HRTC had started its night Volvo bus service from Nurpur to Delhi via the Talwara-Una route on January 21. Its fare from Nurpur to Delhi is Rs 1,200 per seat.

It is pertinent to mention that Transport Minister GS Bali had announced and flagged off two Volvo buses on January 3 from Nurpur to Delhi and Chandigarh after laying the foundation stone of the local bus stand.
