Automatic laundry service for varsity students

SOLAN: YUwash launderette services were started for hostlers at Bahra University in Waknaghat yesterday.

YUwash launderette services were started for hostlers at Bahra University in Waknaghat yesterday. University chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra inaugurated the laundry service.

Vice Chancellor Dr SK Bansal said the university was first in north India to provide the facility. He said the students could book a slot, monitor the washing cycle and pay the charges online using a mobile app. The cost of washing 6 kg clothes would be Rs 99. The company would maintain the launderette.

A university spokesperson said such a facility was available at top international universities like Harvard University, North Carolina State University, Kings College, London, University of Illinois, University of Minnesota and University of Michigan.
