Baddi unit gets national safety award

SOLAN: Baddi-based home appliances unit, Elin Appliances, has bagged the National Safety Council of India (NSCI) Excellence Award in the Micros Small and Medium Enterprises category for the fifth time in a row.

Baddi-based home appliances unit, Elin Appliances, has bagged the National Safety Council of India (NSCI) Excellence Award in the Micros Small and Medium Enterprises category for the fifth time in a row.

The award was conferred by the Union Minister of Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya and Satish Reddy, Chairman, NSCI, to the unit management in Delhi yesterday. It was received by Director Sanjeev Sethia and other team members of the unit.

JS Kang, head of the plant, said the unit was assessed on various parameters like preparedness for physical hazards, chemical hazard, fire and explosive hazard, industrial hygiene, occupational health, accident, incident reporting, investigation and analysis, emergency preparedness and safety inspections.

It was shortlisted from a large number of entries received by the NSCI. A stringent evaluation of the existing health safety and environmental parameters vis-à-vis international standards was carried out by the NSCI team. — TNS
