Rajni Thakur, Block Development Committee (BDC) member of Tulah, Khadiyar and Trambli panchayat in Mandi, has come forward to help special children by offering her salary.

Talking to The Tribune here today, she said it was an effort to motivate people towards the welfare of these children, who were an integral part of society.

“I have made the donation for the cause of special children and asked Jogindernagar MLA Gulab Singh Thakur to provide aid to facilitate these children, who also donated Rs 15,000 for this noble cause,” she added.

She said at present the BDC member was getting Rs 3,000 as honorarium per month. She said efforts would be made in near future to encourage people to come forward to support such children to provide them better education.
