Government College at Nangal Chaudhary in Mahendergarh district will be named after Rashtriya Rifles officer Major Satish Dahiya, who was killed in an encounter with militants in Kashmir early this year. The college will now be known as Shaheed Major Satish Dahiya Government College, an official spokesman said here on Wednesday. PTI

The BSNL telecom exchanges in Panipat and Rewari have won energy conservation awards for adopting various measures to save energy. Minister of State of New and Renewable Energy Dr Banwari Lal gave away the awards at a function held at Government Girls College in Panchkula on April 22. Three held for betting
The police have arrested three persons for allegedly betting on an Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket match here. Abhishek Jorwal, SP, said the CIA-1 team raided a hotel in the city Monday night and arrested Sourabh, Sagar and Ashok Kumar, all residents of Ambala City. The team also seized Rs 1,300 in cash, five mobile phones and a register, he said. TNS
