Mandi, February 27

A three-day Chhesu fair started at Rewalsar in the district today.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) said the fair was organised in the memory of Guru Padamsambhav at Rewalsar, a historic place revered by Hindus, Buddhists and Sikhs.

He said a large number of Buddhists from Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti took part in the fair. Buddhist Acharya Ramesh Negi said Guru Padamsambhav was the second Buddhist after Lord Buddha who prayed in the mountains of Rewalsar.

School students presented cultural programmes on the occasion.
