Budding designers pitted their talent against one another during the Designer Next India-2014 contest organised at F2 Raceway today.

They presented their collections on the basis of the latest trends and fashion forecasts.

The event showcased the talent of 22 young and aspiring designers, who, with their sense of style, promises to show the essence of fashion.

The show comprised of three batches. The duo of Aishwariya and Somya showed the glimpse of “Glamour 7 seas away”, said organisers. Shalu, showcased the new trend “Fusion”, mixing Indian and Western wear together to create a breathtaking new style.

Kanika Dhana and Karan Kardam presented “Jungle Safari”, while Neha Singh showcased “Fluorescent” styled dresses. Alka Rani gave the ethnic sense of India with her “Dhani” themed clothing style. Neha Tayagi presented “Shinning Waves”, a unique style of clothing, which will truly shine off and on the stage. Swinki brought to the platform the elegant, stylish, classy and mesmerising style of the “Memsaab”. Dresscode Brand seemed to back the Maharajas of India with their theme “The Royal Nawab”.

The trio of Rupinder, Pallavi and Aarushika presented the age of the warriors with their theme “Victorian Warrior”. Kanika Sharma presented uniquely collaborated theme “Angana”, while Modh Javed presented the theme of “Inside Beauty”. Mohit presented magical love story of “Veer Zara” and Fugyico Walia showed the theme revolving around “Dreams”. Shivani presented “Beauty behind Tradition”. Simran Chadha presented New Revolution collection. Tejbhan presented “Things with Wings”. Karan showcased the spirit of Punjab with “Royal Punjab”, while Nishaaz Saifi presented Indo-Western styled theme “C2L – China to Ludhiana”. Jatinder and Rishabh, Sidak Arora and Sakshat also presented their collections, according to the organisers.

The event was organised by Mediahub. Geeta Nagrath, Director, IIFT, said she initiated to participate and support this event in the city for the budding designers and to support the garment industry of Ludhiana in terms of creativity and quality.
